Vicky Kanyoka

Vicky Medard Kanyoka is a Tanzanian trade union leader with long experience in promoting workers’ rights, gender equality, and decent work, especially for domestic workers. She has worked at national, regional, and global levels within the trade union movement for more than three decades.
In August 2024, she was appointed Assistant General Secretary of the International Domestic Workers’ Federation (IDWF). In this role, she supports the leadership of IDWF, contributes to the implementation of the strategic plan, and works closely with regions and affiliates to strengthen the voice, unity, and capacity of domestic workers in IDWF regions.
She holds a Bachelor’s degree in Political Science and Public Administration from the Open University of Tanzania and has undertaken professional training in leadership, organizing, gender equality, and training methodology. She has represented workers and shared experiences at many international forums and conferences.
Vicky remains committed to advancing decent work, dignity, and social justice for domestic workers and all workers.
