Sarah El Haïry

High Commissioner for Childhood

Born on March 16, 1989, in France, Sarah El Haïry is a French politician and currently serves as High Commissioner for Childhood, a position she has held since March 5, 2025.
Before this appointment, she served in several ministerial roles: Minister Delegate for Childhood, Youth and Families (February – September 2024) ; Secretary of State for Biodiversity (July 2023 – January 2024) ; and Secretary of State for Youth and the Universal National Service (2020–2023). Earlier in her career, she was elected Member of Parliament for Loire-Atlantique, serving from 2017 to 2020 and in 2022. Deeply committed to public service and civic engagement, Sarah El Haïry has built her career around the values of inclusion, youth empowerment, environmental protection, and the promotion of children’s rights.
