Mr. Prem Prasad Acharya is a senior government official, Joint Secretary of the Government of Nepal with over 25 years of experience in public administration and governance. He currently serves as Head of the Labour Relations and Social Security Division at the Ministry of Labour, Employment and Social Security. In this role, he provides strategic leadership on labour relations, elimination of child and forced labour, social security policy and occupational safety and health. He also heads the Minimum Wage Fixation Committee and plays a key role in the ratification and periodic reporting of ILO Conventions and Protocols, while facilitating tripartite social dialogue among government, employers, and trade unions. Mr. Acharya holds Master’s degrees in Rural Development and Public Administration from Tribhuvan University and brings extensive field and policy experience from across different geography of Nepal.
