After a long and distinguished career in the Ministry of the Interior, he was appointed Technical Adviser to the Minister. He was then elected Member of Parliament for two consecutive terms, during which he also served as Chairman of the Finance Committee. At the end of his two terms in Parliament, he took up the position of Chief of Staff to the Speaker of the National Assembly. In 2014, he was appointed Ambassador of the Republic of Djibouti to the Kingdom of Belgium, Benelux, Scandinavian countries and the European Union. On 2 January 2022, HE OMAR ABDI SAÏD was appointed Minister of Labour in charge of Formalisation and Social Protection.
