Muttaqa Yusha’u
Head of Education and Training
Dr. Muttaqa Yusha’u is the Head of Education and Training of the Nigeria Labour Congress (NLC), where he leads the design and delivery of workers’ education, trade union capacity-building, and leadership development programmes across Nigeria. He also serves as the NLC Focal Person on the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) and Child Labour Projects, coordinating union engagement on decent work, social justice, and rights-based development interventions.
Dr. Yusha’u has extensive expertise in trade union education, labour policy analysis, informal economy organising, social dialogue, and workers’ rights advocacy. His work spans curriculum development for union schools, training-of-trainers programmes, policy research, and engagement with government institutions, international organisations, and civil society actors. He has been actively involved in initiatives on just transition, youth employment, gender and labour, migration, and the future of work, including the impact of digitalisation and artificial intelligence on labour.
