Jordania Ureña
Deputy General Secretary
Jordania is from the Dominican Republic. She was President of the Committee of Young Workers of the Americas (CJTA-CSA) and later Secretary for Social Policies at the Trade Union Confederation of Workers of the Americas (TUCA). She worked on issues including gender equality and equity, young workers, racial equality, social protection, child labour, and the rights of Indigenous peoples.
In the Dominican Republic, she was a national spokesperson for the social movement against corruption and impunity, an active member of the environmental movement Climate Justice; an organiser and Youth Secretary for the Confederación Nacional de Trabajadores Dominicanos (CNTD); President of the Consejo Dominicano de Jóvenes Trabajadores (the Dominican Council of Young Workers); and coordinator of the Comité Intersindical de la Mujer Trabajadora (Inter-Union Committee of Working Women).
Jordania has studied labour rights and social security, social management and cooperatives, and occupational health and risks, and holds a Bachelor’s degree in Administration.
