Hon. Dr. Abdul-Rashid Hassan Pelpuo is a seasoned Ghanaian politician and development expert, currently serving as Minister for Labour, Jobs and Employment. He has been the Member of Parliament for Wa Central since 2005, representing the National Democratic Congress (NDC).

Dr. Pelpuo holds academic qualifications in psychology, international affairs, and development policy, including a Ph.D. from the University of Ghana. He has previously served as Minister for Youth and Sports, and Minister of State in charge of Private Sector Development and Public-Private Partnerships.

In Parliament, he has held leadership roles such as Deputy Majority Leader and Chairman of the Population and Development Caucus. Internationally, he is the President of the African Parliamentarians Forum on Population and Development, championing youth empowerment, gender equity, and population health.
