Haifa Ahmed Darwish

Head of the Child Labour Inspection and Institutional Nurseries Oversight Section

Haifa Ahmed Darwish is a Chemical Engineer and currently serves as the Head of Child Labour Inspection and the Follow‑up of Institutional Nurseries within the Central Inspection Directorate at the Jordanian Ministry of Labour. She brings more than 17 years of specialized experience in labour inspection and occupational safety and health, during which she has held multiple leadership roles overseeing inspection units as well as occupational safety and health departments.

She has been a member of many national committees and teams such as: the National Early Childhood Team, the National Working Group to Reduce Child Labour, the National Committee for the Elderly, the Steering Committee for the Expansion of the Social Protection Umbrella, the National Team for the Enforcement of the Child Rights Law, as well as many internal and external committees specialized in child labour, social protection, labour inspection, occupational safety and health.

She has received many thank you books and specialized local and international professional courses related to her work such as NEBOSH and OSHA, and advanced courses in human trafficking indicators, forced labour, decent work, and gender.

She has been involved in the development and amendment of several national legislation and policies related to children, women , labour inspection, occupational safety and health, and led a national team to develop a national strategy to reduce child labour 2022-2030.

She has played an active role in developing and raising the quality of inspection, safety and occupational health processes and procedures in the Jordanian Ministry of Labozr by participating in the automation of inspection procedures and labozr complaints, and following up and evaluating these processes through the establishment of the Ministry’s Control and Control Room and the development of procedural manuals for inspection operations.
