Sustainability Labels and Schemes Expert

Cécile Huertas is a Sustainability Labels and Schemes Expert at the Food and Agriculture Organization’s Investment Centre. She has over 10 years of experience in human rights and environmental due diligence and in regulatory and voluntary sustainability standards across global value chains such as coffee, cocoa, horticulture, processed foods, and textiles. At FAO, she works with international financial institutions including the EBRD and the World Bank in regions such as Morocco, West Africa, and Latin America.
Before joining the United Nations, she worked in the private sector in France as a Senior Project Manager at the Initiative for Compliance and Sustainability, where she contributed to the design and implementation of social and environmental auditing standards to improve working conditions, reduce environmental impacts, and strengthen traceability in global value chains in collaboration with global retailers, brands and institutional partners.
