Babafemi Oyewole

Dr. Babafemi Oyewole is the Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of the Panafrican Farmers Organisation (PAFO) based in Kigali, Rwanda. In this role, Babafemi leads an organisation that represents over 80 million farmers united in five regional networks and 80 national farmers’ organisations across 50 countries in Africa with several partner institutions across the continent and globally.
Babafemi is a tri-sector professional with three decades of experience in the public, private and non-government sectors. His expertise is in corporate leadership, including over 10 years in the agricultural sector working with farmers and farmers organisations. Most recently, he served as CEOs of African Agribusiness Alliance and African Cashew Alliance based in Accra, Ghana. Prior to these positions, he was CEO of Africa Energy Investment Corporation (AEICORP), and General Manager, Business Development and Marketing, Banque Internationale du Benin. He is a member of the United Nations Stakeholder Engagement and Networking Advisory (SENA) Group on Food Systems and global Council member of the World Agriculture Forum (WAF).
Dr. Oyewole currently sits on the corporate boards of Orabank Benin Republic and Supreme Microfinance Bank, Lagos, and formerly on the Board of African Petroleum Institute, Cairo. He was an UNCTAD Africa energy expert, member of OECD advisory committee on natural resources and the board of Global Cashew Council. He obtained PhD in Development Finance and Public Policy from the University of Bradford, UK as a Chevening Scholar. He speaks English and French languages.
