Child labour continues to be a challenge around the world. However, this region has made the most progress and is seeking to become the first region free of child labour. The employer sector has taken on an increasingly active role in the prevention and eradication of child labor, promoting corporate policies, due diligence processes, corporate social responsibility programs, supply chain monitoring, international certifications, and public-private partnerships.

Business initiatives such as Guatecaña and Anacafé/Funcafé have developed comprehensive child labour prevention models that combine education, social protection, community strengthening, labor inspection, and responsible production certifications. These experiences have become regional benchmarks for the agricultural sectors. The 6th Global Conference Against Child Labour, organized in Morocco, represents a strategic space to highlight and position these good business practices, promote their replicability, and strengthen South-South cooperation between regions.
