Rajeev Sharma holds a Doctorate in Economics from the Jawaharlal Nehru University (JNU), India. He has been associated with the global trade union movement for more than two decades and additionally, he has a strong research and work experience on labour issues. He heads the South Asia Office of the Building and Wood Workers International at New Delhi, India and is working with nearly 60 trade unions from building construction, building materials and forestry sectors in South Asia region. He has done notable work on strengthening global union campaigns in particular on issue(s) of child labour, social protection, migration, decent work and HIV/AIDS.
