Federico Blanco Allais is a production engineer and development economist. Since 2006, he has worked as researcher, statistician and project coordinator at the ILO’s Fundamental Principles and Rights at Work Branch. He is one of the core authors of the Global Estimates of Child Labour, published by the ILO in September 2017 and 2021. His main area of expertise includes the development of quantitative methods to assess the extent and characteristics of child labour. He has conducted global research on child labour in connexion with gender, education, injuries, economic shocks, violence against children and refugees.
