Esther Ofori Agyemang

Head of Child Labour Unit

Ms. Esther Ofori Agyemang is the Head of the Child Labour Unit at Ghana’s Ministry of Labour, Jobs and Employment and a Deputy Chief Labour Officer with the Department of Labour. She leads national efforts to prevent and eliminate child labour through policy development, coordination, monitoring and enforcement, working closely with government institutions, development partners, social partners and civil society. She plays a central role in advancing the implementation of the Ghana Accelerated Action Plan Against Child Labour and serves as the national coordinator of child labour interventions in Ghana.

She has extensive experience in child protection and has contributed to Ghana’s progress towards Child Labour Free Zones. Her commitment to collaboration and partnership has supported the development of concrete policies and innovative programme interventions. Ms. Ofori Agyemang holds degrees from the University of Cape Coast and the University of Ghana in Philosophy, English, and Management and Administration.
