Esther Anyakun Davinia

Minister of State for Labour, Employment and Industrial Relations

Hon. Anyakun is a Ugandan politician, social worker, and procurement and logistics professional with a distinguished record of public service and humanitarian leadership. She has served as the Woman Member of Parliament for Nakapiripirit District since 2016, where she has championed improved social services, women’s empowerment, and development initiatives for the Karamoja sub‑region.

Her public service career began at Amudat Hospital, where she rose to the position of Senior Hospital Administrator, leading improvements in health service delivery and community outreach. She later worked with the International Organization for Migration (IOM) and USAID‑supported programmes as a Project Officer and Regional Coordinator, contributing to cross‑border health initiatives, migration management, and community resilience programmes.

In 2021, she was appointed Minister of State for Relief, Disaster Preparedness and Refugees, where she played a key role in coordinating national disaster response, refugee management, and humanitarian interventions. In March 2024, she was reassigned as Minister of State for Labour, Employment and Industrial Relations in the Ministry of Gender, Labour and Social Development, where she now provides leadership on labour administration, employment policy, and industrial relations.
