Lorenzo Guarcello

Senior Economist

Lorenzo Guarcello is a Senior Economist in the Research and Evaluation Unit of ILO-FUNDAMENTALS. He previously led the Understanding Children’s Work (UCW) project, a joint research initiative of the ILO, UNICEF, and the World Bank. Lorenzo has an extensive publication record, with numerous reports, policy papers, and articles published in international journals and institutional outlets, contributing to both academic debate and global policy dialogue. His work focuses on child labour and forced labour, combining rigorous data collection and analysis with policy-relevant research. He collaborates closely with United Nations agencies, national statistical offices, and universities, and contributes to capacity-building activities and training on child labour and forced labour–related data and statistics.
