Ariel Santiago Benítez Perdomo is a Systems Engineer and currently serves as the Municipal Mayor of San Juan, Intibucá (Honduras), a position for which he was declared elected by the National Electoral Council on December 28, 2021. In his role as municipal authority, he legally represents the local government and oversees the administrative, technical, and legal execution of the municipality’s projects.
Under his administration, the municipality of San Juan, Intibucá has strengthened actions aimed at preventing child labor, promoting a comprehensive protection approach. Among these initiatives are the establishment of safe spaces for children during the coffee harvest, the promotion of formal and non formal education programs, and community awareness campaigns on the risks associated with child labor.
