Ms. Charlotte Bernhard is a Senior Policy Advisor at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Netherlands, specializing in sustainable production and trade and the expert on living wage and income. She has a Master’s degree in Economics. In the past she worked at Ministry of Social Affairs and Employment at the international affairs department, contributing to initiatives on responsible business conduct, decent work, SDGs, and the elimination of child labour.
Ms. Bernhard has actively participated in the 4th and 5th Global Conference on the Elimination of Child Labour, as member of the drafting committee and as co-organizer of a side event on extending universal health coverage to address child labour in the cocoa supply chain in Côte d’Ivoire. Ms. Bernhard also participated as one of the government experts and as vice-chair and government group’s spokesperson in the ILO’s tripartite expert meeting on wage setting, including living wages.
