Senior Social Development Specialist
Nneka Okereke is a Senior Social Development Specialist, Child Labor Focal Point and Coordinator for Social Risk Management covering World Bank Portfolios in Ghana, Liberia and Sierra Leone. She has over 20 years’ experience in leading policy dialogue with government, development partners, civil society organizations, and private sector on policy reforms and collaborative actions to enhance opportunities for inclusion of the poor, marginalized and vulnerable groups in development process. She primarily manages complex involuntary resettlement planning and challenging social issues in high risks and complex operations across different World Bank operational sectors. Recently, she led the innovative development of a child labor risk screening toolkit that enables portfolio wide and landscape approach to mainstreaming child labor risk management in project design beyond safeguards and risk management. Nneka holds a master’s degree in development information management from University of Maryland in the United States of America.
