Gazal Malik
Lead - Policy and Advocacy
Gazal Malik is the Lead for Policy and Advocacy at Global March Against Child Labour. A dedicated policy research practitioner and specialist in global supply chains, she focuses on addressing the systemic inequalities that perpetuate child labour and forced labour. Her expertise lies in assessing the socio-economic vulnerabilities of marginalised groups, with a particular emphasis on gender inequalities and human rights risk indicators in sectors such as agriculture, the garment industry, and seafood production.
In her current role, Gazal manages the implementation of child labour projects and advocacy efforts across various countries, including Uganda, the Philippines, and Bangladesh. She works closely with international stakeholders to promote best practices, such as Area-Based Approaches (ABA) and Child Labour Monitoring and Remediation Systems (CLMRS), to identify and support children at risk. A trained sociologist, her vision is centred on decolonising trade and sustainability to achieve a world free of child labour and social justice for the working class.
