Dur e Shawar Siraj is Vice President of the Pakistani United Workers’ Federation and Chair of the South Asian Regional Trade Union Council’s Women’s Committee. For over 16 years, she has organized women workers in the informal economy to advance labour rights, collective bargaining, and decent work, while leading efforts on gender mainstreaming within trade unions. She leads Pakistan’s campaign for ratifying ILO Convention 190 at national and international forums and serves on national tripartite committees advocating recognition of informal workers. Her work focuses on protecting women and children in the initial tiers of supply chains by strengthening worker voice, social dialogue, and supply chain accountability.
