Younes Sekkouri

Minister for Economic Inclusion, Small Business, Employment and Skills

Younes Sekkouri is Minister of Economic Inclusion, Small Business, Employment and Skills. He was appointed on 7 October 2021 by His Majesty King Mohammed VI. He holds a PhD in Strategy from ISCAE, as well as two Executive MBAs from Ecole des Ponts Business School and Temple University’s Fox School of Business. A state-certified telecommunications engineer, he graduated from the National Institute of Posts and Telecommunications (INPT). He is also a graduate of the ASPEN Institute in Paris.

Prior to his appointment, Dr Sekkouri was Dean of the Africa Region at the École des Ponts Business School. He is also an expert with the United Nations Economic Commission for Africa in the areas of economic and industrial policy and structural transformation, and a member of the Strategic Committee to the UN Secretary-General for the Arab Human Development Report (2014-2016) focused on Arab youth.

During his academic and professional career, Dr Sekkouri has developed significant experience in teaching and consulting in the United States, Europe and Africa in the fields of strategy, leadership, innovation and public policy design.

From 2011 to 2016, Younes Sekkouri was a PAM member of the First Chamber and also a member of the Finance and Economic Development Committee. He was also a councillor for the municipality of Témara and the Provincial Council of Skhirat-Témara from 2015 to 2021.
