Joost Kooijmans is a Senior Social Development Specialist on labor and working conditions in the World Bank’s Operations Policy and Country Services (OPCS). As former Senior Advisor on Child Labor in UNICEF and Senior Legal Officer in ILO’s Fundamental Principles and Rights at Work Branch, he brings expertise in international labor standards, human rights and project management. Joost also served in various other UN positions, including as Chief Operating Officer in a UNICEF-hosted global partnership and as Special Assistant to the Special Representative of the Secretary-General on Violence against Children. Joost holds a master’s degree in public international law from Leyden University in the Netherlands.
