This interactive session offers the first opportunity to present findings from a research project reviewing evidence on the link between freedom of association, effective recognition of the right to collective bargaining, and the elimination of child labour and forced labour. It explores the role of workers’ and employers’ organisations, individually and jointly, and the conditions under which they help reduce these risks. Participants will be introduced to the conceptual framework developed through the project. The discussion will focus on ways to significantly expand this work, both in research and in action-oriented interventions.
